Our Programmes

Our healing and restoration journeys are designed to help people understand the reason why they may feel, respond, cope or struggle in certain ways.

We provide safe, faith-rooted and trauma-informed programmes where individuals can explore the experiences that have shaped them, recognise survival responses with compassion rather than shame, and begin the journey towards healing, restoration and a renewed sense of self.

WHAT LIES BENEATH

This restoration journey begins with slowing down enough to notice what has been carried beneath the surface. Through trauma-aware support and collective reflection, individuals are helped to name the wounds, recognise the impact of past experiences and relationships, and understand how pain can shape identity, emotions, choices and our ability to connect. This is not about staying in the past, but learning what needs to be acknowledged, what can be released, and what can begin to be rebuilt. As people bring compassion to the deepest places of pain within the soul, they are supported to recover emotional safety, restored identity and deeper connection within body, soul and spirit.

THE SHORE BEYOND SHAME

This healing journey explores how shame can take root through trauma, rejection, abuse, failure, addiction, secrecy, harmful relationships or painful life experiences. Shame can leave people believing they are defined by what has happened to them, what they have done, or the stigma received from others.

This programme helps individuals recognise how shame is carried in the mind, body and spirit, and how it can show up through fear, self-blame, isolation, anger, people-pleasing, low self-worth, destructive patterns or feeling disconnected from their true identity.

Through trauma-aware support, collective reflection and faith-rooted guidance, participants are given space to name the shame they have carried, understand its impact, and begin to separate who they are from what they have experienced.

The journey is about breaking the hold of shame and discovering that no one is defined by their worst mistake, deepest wound or darkest season. It invites people towards acceptance, belonging, forgiveness, restored identity and the freedom to step into a new chapter.

STILL WATERS RETREAT

This is a faith-rooted, trauma-aware residential retreat created for individuals who need a deeper level of care, safety and support as they begin to face the impact of trauma, shame and deep emotional wounds.

The retreat brings together our two core programmes, What Lies Beneath and The Shore Beyond Shame, offering participants time and space to step away from the pressures of daily life and enter a calm, supportive environment where healing work can be held with care. What Lies Beneath helps individuals gently recognise the deeper places of pain formed through life experiences, relationships, rejection, trauma, abuse, loss or crisis. The Shore Beyond Shame supports participants to understand how shame takes root, how it is carried in the mind, body and spirit, and how it can affect identity, relationships, choices and self-worth.

Delivered in a residential setting, Still Waters Retreat offers a wrap-around approach for those carrying deep emotional scars who may need more time, space and support than a weekly group can provide. The retreat includes trauma-aware teaching, guided reflection, group conversation, creative exercises,  nervous system regulation, rest, shared meals, and safe opportunities for connection. Participants are supported by experienced facilitators who understand the importance of compassion, pacing, emotional safety and trust.

Still Waters Retreat is not about rushing people through a process or asking them to relive painful memories. It is about creating a Safe Harbour where people can pause, breathe, be heard, and begin to understand what has been carried beneath the surface. Through whole-person support across body, soul and spirit, participants are gently helped to make sense of the pain, release shame, reconnect with who they are, and take steps towards restoration, freedom and a renewed sense of identity.

Empowering you to thrive

This is whole-person healing — supporting the body, soul, mind, heart and spirit — so people can move forward in their recovery with dignity, strength, resilience and renewed hope.

What makes our approach different?

At Ark And Anchor C.I.C., healing is not about fixing people. It is about walking beside them as they begin to understand the pain they have carried and the survival patterns that have helped them cope.

Our unique combination of support

Our approach is faith-based, trauma-aware, polyvagal informed and whole-person-centred. What makes our work unique is the combination of lived experience, frontline professional practice, nervous system awareness, spirituality and faith, community and compassionate connection. We create safe spaces where people can move from survival towards strength, resilience, identity, hope and lasting transformation.
